In April 2021 we had an Underwater Treadmill installed. This state of the art piece of equipment is key in the rehabilitation of spinal cases. It is also ideal for dogs that aren't keen on swimming due to its feature of allowing control over the volume of water in the tank as well as being able to add an incline, decline and change the speed. We also have the ability to create tailored made plans for fun and fitness dogs. We have a shower area in the Treadmill Room which allows us to wash the dogs before and after their sessions.

Vets often request for dogs to be seen on the Underwater Treadmill first when starting their rehabilitation programme. Dogs can start Treatment as early as 2 weeks post operation on the Underwater Treadmill due to it being a controlled environment. Starting this early means we can maintain and build muscle much sooner!

The pool and treadmill water is kept at a constant 30-32c. Warm water is proven to promote blood circulation which helps relax muscles, easing pain in joints, tendons, helps reduce swelling and aids overall healing.

Our pool and treadmill are sanitized to the highest standard and the water is tested at least 2 times a day in line with CHA regulations and adjusted accordingly. These measures ensure a totally safe swim for each and every dog.

Our polypropylene pool is custom built and measures 3.8m x 2.4m and is 1.2m in depth. There is a built in internal ramp which is also used to rest the dogs during their swim. Access up to the pool edge is via a sturdy, gently sloping external ramp. Extra staff will be used to safely assist severely disabled dogs into the pool.

Swim jets are used to create a variable water flow. These can be adjusted for position and strength depending on size, condition and fitness of your dog. Jets help encourage movement in the water particularly useful for neurological damage, limb paralysis or fitness work.

There is a shower area next to the pool so that your dog can be washed before and after their swim. Fresh towels and a dryer are provided so that we can ensure your dog leaves our centre as warm and dry as possible. We recommend a coat (Ruff and Tumble Drying Coat) or equafleece in the colder months to help dry your dog keeping them warm on the journey home. Please note we now sell Ruff and Tumble Drying Coats and have plenty in stock!!!

There is ample off road parking on site and a grassed area. It is imperative your dog relieves itself before swimming. (This hopefully avoids any "accidents" in the pool and Underwater Treadmill!).

K-LASER therapy does not treat conditions, it stimulates the body’s inherent healing mechanisms via a process called photobiomodulation. Through a combination of different wavelengths, power and frequency of laser light K-LASER is able to achieve improved healing times, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Laser Therapy has been utilised in human and animal medicine for many decades, however recent technical advances in laser miniaturisation has allowed laser therapy to be used for a wider range of patients.
